ELIZABETH DONALDSON-PAGE Obituary

Beloved by family and friends, Anne Donaldson-Page of Toronto passed away suddenly, surrounded with love and prayers, on Monday, November 3, 2025. Dear wife and very best friend of Alfred Page for over 46 years and the adoring mother of Alexandra Page. Predeceased by her parents John Monro Donaldson and Violet Donaldson (Hoy) and survived by her loving brother John (Jocelyne) Donaldson, sister-in-law Lillian (Bob) Bruno and many cousins in Canada and the UK. Doting aunt of Jenna Donaldson (Sean), Lauren (Eddy) Koster, Melissa Bruno, and Brittany Bruno (Naim) and great-nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Toronto, Anne was Alfred's high school sweetheart at Etobicoke Collegiate Institute. They shared great joy in friends, family, travel, fine food and wine, Shakespeare and jazz (or better, several of these at once). She devotedly supported, encouraged, advised, and tracked all of Alfred's and Alexandra's interests and activities, from work to sports to personal appointments, keeping a detailed calendar for each of us. Throughout each year she was always busy, sending special occasion e-cards to many loved ones, collecting photos for her famous Christmas slide show, baking pies and finding the perfect presents for all. Anne loved numbers and their intersection with human endeavour. After her HB in Statistics and Economics, she obtained her MBA from University of Toronto where she made lifelong friends. She worked in labour economics, economic modelling, banking, management consulting and strategic sourcing, and eventually founded her own business serving public institutions. After many years of caring for her Mom, Anne's passion became her forthcoming book which shares advice, anecdotes, checklists and contacts intended for members of the sandwich generation on caring for aging parents. A faithful and enduring communicant, elder and member of the board of managers of Rosedale Presbyterian Church, Anne loved its many congregants and enthusiastically participated in, volunteered for and organized an amazing array of events and activities, such as movie nights, auctions, women's group, after school tutoring, session, stewardship campaigns, bible reading, counting collection and ushering. Anne was a very early adopter of vintage - shoes, purses, costume jewelry and exquisite clothing, with a fully accessorized matching outfit for every possible situation. Packing for her many travels, near and far, was conducted with military precision, with detailed plans for every activity and element. She always prepared the same for Alfred and Alexandra. A detailed scrapbook with an annotated and updated itinerary, maps, tickets, menus and mementos was lovingly curated immediately upon return. Described by many as beautiful, warm, generous, authentic, intelligent, indomitable, vibrant, extroverted, persistent and altogether remarkable, she will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends at the Humphrey Funeral Home A.W. Miles - Newbigging Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville), Toronto on Friday, November 7, from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Rosedale Presbyterian Church, 129 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto, on Saturday, November 8 at 11:00 a.m. (live stream at https://youtube.com/live/uUEueeH8SX8) with refreshments and interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rosedale Presbyterian Church (https://www.rosedalepresbyterianchurch.ca/donate) or to SOS Children's Villages (https://www.soschildrensvillages.ca/donate/honour-memory/Anne_Donaldson-Page). Condolences may be forwarded through www.humphreymiles.com. Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand, and we boast in our hope of sharing the glory of God. And not only that, but we also boast in our afflictions, knowing that affliction produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us. Romans 5: 1 - 5.
