ELIZABETH ANNE DOUGLAS It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Elizabeth Anne Douglas (nee Young) on Saturday, February 13, 2021, as a result of a heart attack. Elizabeth will be deeply missed by her children Scott Douglas and Anne Green, by her son-in-law Steven Green, and by her adored grandchildren Haley and Ben Green. Happily, Elizabeth had too many memories to count with her lifelong friends June and John Wevers, and the late Shan Phibbs. One of her greatest joys was the Douglas family's decades long special bond with the Stone family. Elizabeth is predeceased by her loving husband of 49 years, James A. Douglas (2009). She is survived by her sister, Linda James and her family. Elizabeth will be laid to rest with her husband in the Forest of Remembrance at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Toronto. Elizabeth (or Beth as she was known to her cousins and old friends) was born in Sarnia, Ontario on January 5, 1936, and is predeceased by her parents Thomas Jolly Young (1998) and Anna Kirsten (Knudsen) Young (1983). Elizabeth began her career teaching elementary school in Hamilton and Toronto. She then joined her husband in building a successful Insurance Brokerage, Millar & Douglas (now Fabbro & Douglas). In retirement she enjoyed reading, puttering in the garden, travelling, preforming with Society of Singers, and, most of all, being with her family and dear friends. Mom was grateful to be independent until the end of her life. She was able to live at home, in her condo in the sky, with her view over St. Clair Avenue, where she could watch the world go by. Mom was so happy with her books and photos, plants and flowers, and of course her beloved cats, Cleo and Georgie Girl, who will miss her greatly. A Celebration of Elizabeth's life will be held once it is safe to do so. Memorial Donations may be made to Centennial Infant and Child Centre
