Elizabeth FROST Obituary

Beth Frost, born in Barrie, Ontario in 1924, passed away peacefully last Saturday at her residence in Markham, Ontario after more than a century of dedicated life. She was predeceased by her son Rob Frost (1975), brother Bud Pratt (2005), husband Mac Frost (2005), and daughter Cinder Warren (2022), and is survived by her grandson Jason Hammond. Married in 1951, Beth was a devoted partner to Mac in life and in the golf business. Her work provided for countless days of enjoyment among golf club members, originally at Cedar Brae, and most recently at Spring Lakes and Vespra Hills. Her passion for horticulture and flower arranging gave Beth many opportunities to create, serve, and lead. She was a proud and very productive member of the Agincourt, Scarborough, Stouffville, and Markham Horticultural Societies, as well as the Garden Clubs of Leaside, West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, and most notably Milne House, where she was a Charter Member and President. Beth served as an instructor and leader for municipal and 4-H programs, and in executive positions for gardening and flower arranging organisations at the regional, national, and international level. Her exhibitor and judging roles took her across Canada, the United States, Mexico, Bahamas, Grand Cayman, Bermuda, Panama, England, Belgium, France, South Africa, Japan, and New Zealand. Beth and Mac supported several charitable efforts, such as working to establish both the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation (now JDRF), and the Guelph Turfgrass Institute at the University of Guelph. To honour their leadership and concern for these causes, donations are encouraged to JDRF and GTI, with thanks for your generosity. A private family service to honour Beth has been held prior to announcement, according to her wishes. Beth's loved ones are pleased to know that many people are reflecting on and appreciating her presence in their lives. Condolences may be offered through www.dixongarland.com.

Very sorry for your loss--my father Sam Dime who passed 14 years ago knew your mother when she worked at the counter of the dinner around the corner of his pharmacy on Jarvis and reconnected with her when he was a long time member of Spring Lakes, he had so many stories about your parents from his time at the golf club.
