Elizabeth GEIGER Obituary



Elizabeth Anne Geiger Elizabeth Anne Of Ottawa, passed peacefully at the age of 56, on Friday June 28, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born to Douglas Geiger and Dorothy Ross Geiger, May 15, 1957, in Toronto and grew up in Kingston. Elizabeth graduated from Loyalist Collegiate in 1975 and received a BCom from Queen's University. She married Paul Sutcliffe in 1994 and they lived together in Toronto before relocating to Chicago in 1996 and eventually returning to live in Ottawa in 2009. Liz was an Associate Partner at IBM and had an international career that took her to the US, Europe, Asia and South America where she offered strategic thinking and developed business solutions for C-Level executives across a range of industries. Liz was a truly creative and talented visual artist and fashion designer, and was an accomplished athlete and pianist, favouring Bach. Liz was generous of spirit and heart, always there to support family and friends in times of need. Elizabeth is survived by her husband of 19 years, Paul Sutcliffe and their 2 children, Alexander (15) and Malcolm (13), her mother, Dorothy Geiger and 5 siblings, Hugh (Sheelagh), Kathy, Janet (Laurie), Laura and Stephen (Julia). Many thanks to Dr. Touchie and the wonderful and compassionate nursing staff of the Ottawa General, 6 West.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa on Friday, July 5, 2013 from 3-5pm and 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at Christ Church Cathedral, 439 Queen Street, Ottawa on Saturday, July 6 at 11am. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society at www.cancer.ca. www.mcgarryfamily.ca
