ELIZABETH KENNEDY Obituary
Elizabeth Anne "Buffy" Kennedy passed away peacefully, at Toronto Western Hospital, at the age of 74, after a brief illness. Buffy is survived by her children, Brynn Kennedy Wiffen and Evan Kennedy; her son-in-law, Brad; her grandchildren, Aubrey, Emmie and Malcolm; and her five siblings and many extended family and friends. Buffy was predeceased by her dear husband, Randall Kennedy. Buffy spent her early years in north Toronto, part of a large, bustling household, where friends and relatives gathered often. She attended St. Clement's School, McMaster University and teachers' college. Education was her passion; Buffy taught for many years in York Region before she became a school principal. Buffy lived a full life. A friend to many, she always had a smile and kind word to share. She was an avid walker, putting on many kilometres each day in whatever she did. She loved her stays in Portugal each winter and her trips to other European destinations in between. The role she took most pride in was grandmother. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy and she poured her heart and energy into them, finding endless happiness in their milestones, stories and simple moments together. Buffy made a lasting impact on the people in her life and she will be deeply missed. A celebration of life will take place at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home (8088 Yonge Street, Thornhill) on Thursday, December 18th, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., with remarks at 2:00 p.m.
