ELIZABETH MCKERCHER Obituary

(ne?e MacDonald) Surrounded by her loving family, Tibby passed away peacefully, on February 17, 2025, at the age of 86. She was a loving wife, mother, Gammy, sister and loyal friend to many. Tibby was born on February 4, 1939, in Ottawa, Ontario. After high school, she ventured west for the summer to work at Jasper Park Lodge, where she met John, her soulmate of 64 years. Together, they moved to Vancouver, raised four children, and eventually became an important part of their ten grandchildren's lives. A lifelong teacher and avid learner, Tibby headed back to university in her 60's and achieved her hard-earned BA from UBC. Tibby was always active; fishing, hiking, skiing, golfing, swimming and gardening. Travelling was also a passion, with extensive international travel over the years with family and friends. She has a wide assortment of pottery to show for it! Tibby is survived by her husband, John; children, Sally (Doug), Catherine (Chris), Beth and Bob (Tracey); and ten grandchildren. A devoted sister, Tibby is also survived by her sister, Sally (Thompson); brother, Tom (Jennifer), and their extended families. The family is very grateful to Tibby's doctors and caregivers who supported her so well through these last few months. In lieu of flowers, please donate in her memory to a Charity of Your Choice. A celebration of life will be held in the spring.
