ELIZABETH NOBLE Obituary

June 8, 2025 Elizabeth (Liz) Noble, a woman who beautifully balanced being a selfless, kind, and loving wife, mother, and nana, with a career as a passionate educator, has passed away peacefully, at the age of 86, after a 25-year battle with Parkinson's disease. Liz will be sadly missed by her husband, William (Bill) Noble; and her children, Judy and her husband Shawn, David and his wife Michelle, Karen and her husband Neil; and her grandchildren, Mark, Chelsea, Eva and her husband Pedro, Graham, Brianna, Siobhan, Emma, Jamie, Leah. Daughter of Joseph and Madeleine Ord, Liz enjoyed a rich childhood in Kirkland Lake and Windsor with her brother Bob and sister Marilyn. An award-winning competitive swimmer, Liz cherished family trips to their rustic cottage in Sesekinika. She earned her BA and MA in Household Economics from the University of Toronto, where she met Bill, who was studying to become an anaesthesiologist. Liz soon joined a university women's club, and was a life-long participant in gourmet, book, and bridge club activities. In 1988, Liz challenged herself to return to the University of Toronto to earn her Bachelor of Education degree before working as a high school teacher in the Region of Peel, creating imaginative and compelling lesson plans that inspired her students. Liz especially valued her family time up at the Berford Lake cottage on the Bruce Peninsula. She once commented that the summer experiences at the cottage were some of the best times of her life, with the family enjoying swimming, waterskiing, and even resilience-building construction projects. Liz and Bill were married for over 60 years, in a relationship that prioritized love, trust, and respect. In her last years, Liz suffered from the long-term effects of Parkinson disease, causing her to lose mobility and motor function but never dampening her determined spirit. Liz will be remembered as a woman whose unconditional love sparkled through all her relationships, whether family or friend. As Liz wished, we invite all those who knew her to join us for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, July 26th, 1-4 p.m., in Georgetown, ON. Please RSVP to [email protected] by July 12th.
