Dr. Elizabeth (Liz) S. C. Williams MA, DBA, FRSA (September 29, 1963 – October 28, 2025) Liz passed away naturally and peacefully, at home with family, after over three years of fighting metastatic breast cancer, during which she nonetheless completed a Doctorate in Business Administration. Liz never gave up and never complained, but her body simply didn't have the strength to fight any more. On her final day with us, Liz was visited by dear friends and listened to the Blue Jays play in the World Series one last time. Liz will miss golfing, gardening, cooking and entertaining. She'll also miss travel, wilderness camping, her teaching and studies, her many close friends, and sitting by the fire in the winter or on the porch in the summer. Liz's sons travelled from Alberta and the UK to join their father in saying goodbye. Liz will be sorely missed by her husband of 35 years, Jonathan Gladstone; by their sons, Simon and Ben; their granddaughters; her brother, Guy, and his sons; and by innumerable members of Jonathan's family. She will also be missed by her multitude of dear friends, too many to mention, from all stages of her life – Liz was witty, eloquent, thoughtful, and generous with her time. Liz had a long and distinguished career and earned many professional accolades. After graduating from Ryerson University's Journalism school, she started as a reporter at the Toronto Sun. She soon moved to working in communications and marketing with a series of employers for over 20 years, then went out on her own as Candler Chase Consulting. She went back to academia to study the need for more communications education for executives, earning her Masters and Doctoral degrees from Royal Roads University in 2018 and 2025 respectively. In 2017, she began to teach at Centennial College in Toronto; she eventually joined full-time faculty there. Along with her work and studies, Liz always found time to volunteer and to serve the community. There will be a celebration of life for Liz on Sunday, November 9th, 1:00 - 4:00 p.m., at Low & Low Funeral Home, 23 Main St. South, Uxbridge, Ontario. Eulogies will start at 2:00 p.m.; an open mic will follow. Light refreshments will be served. For those who cannot attend in person, eulogies and open mic will be livestreamed at
www.lowandlow.ca; friends and family are invited to share memories, express condolences, and make donations at that same site. Liz's family would appreciate donations to the Cure Foundation for Breast Cancer at
www.curefoundation.com.
