MELKMAN, Ella Joyce (nee Whittier)
Peacefully, in her 84th year, at the Queensway Carleton Hospital on June 1, 2001. Cherished wife of the late Arthur Melkman, much loved mother of the late Arthur, Joan, the late Brenda, Lynn and Donna. Her joy in life will be missed by her sons-in-law John Berry, Harry Needham and Paul Howard; her grandchildren Derek Melkman, Heather (David), Susan (Chris), Michael (Janice) Berry; Kevin, Derek (Jenny), Angela (Matt) Needham; Michelynn, Natalie, Melanie Poirier; Shannon, Andrew, Jordan Howard; her great granddaughters Emma and Rachel and the countless friends gathered through the years. Memorial service at 2 p.m. Sunday June 3 at Wyman Memorial Church, Hudson, Quebec. If desired, donations to the Alzheimers Society of Canada or the Queensway Carleton Hospital in her honour would be appreciated by the family.

My grandmother made me a winner and resilient. She taught me I cab do anything with the right guidance I loved her so much. I went to Hearst and I found her picture on the wall with all the other girls. That were in the I situation for conforming. I didn't realize why she was so tough her life really was amazing and a legacy of who I want become and emulate. I loved her so much and how she loved me so much.
