July 10, 1944 – February 28, 2025 With great love and deep sorrow, we announce the peaceful passing of Eric Arthur Leggatt on February 28, 2025, at the age of 80, surrounded by friends, loved ones, and his devoted dog, Angie, at Kensington Hospice. Born in Guelph, Ontario, to Carrie and Arthur Leggatt, Eric is survived by his daughter, Micah; beloved grandchildren, Marlon and Levo; and his loyal companion, Angie. Eric lived a life rich in intellect, service, and dry wit. After studying at the University of Guelph, he embarked on a long and respected career as a microbiologist. Later, with his beloved wife, Lisa Cameron, he devoted himself to community work in Cabbagetown - supporting local festivals like the Cabbagetown Festival and Forsythia Festival, as well as numerous youth initiatives that helped shape the neighbourhood he loved. Eric will be remembered for his sharp mind, amazing sense of humour, and love of history. He brought joy and insight to those around him. The family thanks Kensington Hospice for their extraordinary care. Donations may be made in his memory to Kensington Hospice. A celebration of life will be held sometime this summer. Please feel free to email me if you would like to be included.
