Erin ANNESLEY Obituary

ERIN ANNESLEY April 13, 1966 - December 14, 2021 Erin shared her heart with husband Scott Riddell for 37 years before leaving him long before he was ready to let her go. Erin was incredibly proud of their children Annesley, Mac and Sam. Smitten with grandsons, Oakley and Bodhi, Erin was also very close with her sister, Allison and her father, Fred. Erin felt the loss of her mother Pat deeply, having supported her mother through her own battle with lung cancer. Erin was also strongly connected to her nieces, nephews and other family members. Erin had a remarkably supportive group of incredible friends, many of whom showed their love for Erin in a variety of ways throughout her illness. A passionate force of life with a razor sharp wit, Erin loved to laugh and take others along for the ride. She was bright, charismatic, opinionated and never at a loss for words. She knew how to have fun and it was fun to spend time with her! Aware of how much she had to live for, Erin decided immediately after her lung cancer diagnosis to stop working as a realtor so she could focus on her health. Her untimely passing reminds us all to live and love authentically and with great passion, as Erin did. Much gratitude to Dr. Paul Sugar and Dr. Marylene Kyriazis at the Paul Sugar Foundation, Dr. Janessa Laskin at BC Cancer and the nurses and doctors at Lion's Gate Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Erin's name to support lung cancer research at bccancerfoundation.com/ErinAnnesley or to the Paul Sugar Foundation at paulsugarfoundation.com.

This beautiful bright star will be so missed. I will miss her forever, and pray I never forget the sound of her laughter. We would laugh so hard at times tears would flow.
She was my biggest cheerleader, as I was hers.
And boy would we dance, letting all inhibitions go and soaking in the joy of the music. Many times to the Scott Riddell band. Her boys Mac and Sam are also part of an incredibly talented band that I had the gift of watching with her many times. She was Black Pontiac“s biggest fan without a doubt and would beam with so much pride when she watched them. My sweet friend loved nothing more than being a grandma to Oakley and Bodhi, and was so happy for Annesley. She loved so deeply, and cared so completely.
I know so many will feel her loss so deeply. Life will never quite be as bright. I miss you my sweet friend more than words can ever convey.

If I had to pick a single word to describe dear Deenie, it would be "believer." When she got behind something or someone, there was never talk of failure, and you had her unwavering support and enthusiasm for whatever you happened to be pursuing or up against. She was both grease and glue within her family and friendships, keeping the many parts moving while firmly holding them all together. The Christmas parties at the house are a wonderful and perfect example of how Deenie cherished her family and friends over all else in her life, and maintained those ties over many happy years along side Scott and their much loved family. Such happy memories, and such a sad, sad loss to all who knew and loved Deenie.
