ERNEST HOBBS Obituary

(February 4, 1931 – August 1, 2025) Ernie lived a fulfilled and accomplished life. He was known for his kindness, empathy, and quiet wisdom. A solution oriented thinker, he inspired those around him. He was a lifelong student and loved to share his knowledge - he was a teacher at heart. A man of many talents, Ernie was creative and a self-taught pioneer computer programmer and Technical Market Analyst. Previous experience has been as an award-winning portrait photographer, Chief Medical Photographer at SickKids Hospital in Toronto, and the leading Technical Representative (microscopy and lighting), representing Nikon in eastern Canada. Ernie also enjoyed music, chess, sailing, patterns, and making paper planes for children. He will be greatly missed by Micheline, his devoted wife with whom he shared 54 happy years, and will be fondly remembered by family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him. Those wishing to make a donation in Ernie's memory may do so to the charity of their choice or directly to St. Michael's Hospital, whose team provided such thorough care and support to Ernie during his hospitalisation stmichaelsfoundation.com. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Ma chère amie Micheline
Nous t´adressons tous nos plus sincères condoléances pour le départ de ce cher Ernie. Vous vous êtes tenus ensemble depuis presque 55 ans. Tu l´as tellement soutenu ces quatre dernières années et tu as fait l´impossible. C´est très difficile de trouver des mots pour de dire combien nous sommes avec toi et combien on aurait aimé faire plus.

Ce qu´Ernie a été pour ceux et celles qu´il aimait et qui l´aimaient, il le reste pour toujours dans leur mémoire et au plus profond de leur coeur.

Puisse toute l´affection que nous ressentons pour toi te donner un peu de réconfort dans ce moment si difficile.
