Ethel BUTCHER Obituary
BUTCHER, Ethel Loretta (nee Trott), 1923 - 2008
With deep sadness we announce the passing of Ethel on November 21, 2008. Predeceased by her parents and husband William (Bill) Butcher. Ethel was a gentle, wonderful person who always saw the best in people. Her friends were many. She was a longtime member of Knox Presbyterian Church and a choir member. She spoke of the Queen mother's visit to the church. Ethel loved her fist job as a volunteer teacher at Beverly St. private school teaching underdeveloped, disabled children. She continued her teaching career when the Toronto School Board took over the school. In her retirement, she took up her love of gardening and grew the tallest impatiens on the street. Her death leaves a sadness in the many lives she has touched. Thanks to all the Doctors, nursing staff and volunteers at Cummer Lodge and the 4th floor D staff and Dr. Devlin at Scarborough Grace Hospital for their individual care. The visits by the Knox Presbyterian Church members and friends during Ethel's illness were greatly appreciated. Friends will be received at the YORK VISITATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE 160 Beecroft Road (north of Sheppard Ave., 1 block west of Yonge St.,) Toronto, 416-221-3404 on Friday from 5-8 pm and on Saturday from 9 am until time of service at 10:00 o'clock. Interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
