Evelyn METRICK

Evelyn Metrick (Mossop) Died peacefully on October 22, 2013 at the age of 91. Evelyn was predeceased by her loving husband of 58 years, Stan Metrick, and siblings Jack, Arthur, Dorothy, and Amy, and is survived by her dear older sister Eva Mossop of Vancouver. Loving mother of Kenneth (Glenda) and Ronald (Alayne); devoted grandmother to Andrea (Tom Howell), Christian (Miyuki), Andrew, Jonathan, Cheryl (Craig Ferguson); and wonderful great-grandma 'G.G.' to Ashley and Taylor Howell. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Evelyn moved to Don Mills in 1956 where she was a proud resident until November 2012. Her family was very special to Evelyn, as was her volunteer work with the Canadian Red Cross at the Sunnybrook Veterans' Wing. The family appreciates the support and kindness of her Don Mills caregiver Merle, as well as the staff at the Villages of Taunton Mills in Whitby, where Evelyn lived in her last year. A private family funeral will take place. A service of remembrance to celebrate Evelyn's life will be held at the Villages of Taunton Mills, 3800 Brock St. N., Whitby, ON, Sunday, November 3, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to Sunnybrook Veterans' Wing or Better Living Health and Community Services.
