I recall Miss Blostein at Port Credit Secondary in 1956 as an English teacher par excellence. In spite of her diminutive size, she took no prisoners with her crossed arms and unflinching gaze, be it athletic stars, bikers or other 50's garden variety rebels. Miss Blostein once said, "You may acquire financial success, fame or stardom but you'll never achieve peace." She's finally achieved hers and we were all so much better for her knowledgable, feisty leadership.

I remember Ms BLOSTEIN from New Toronto Secondary School. Shw was patient, eager to teach and so willing to help in the school's library. She was a rea;l lady in such a small package.

I am not sure if this Miss Blostein is the same teacher who was my grade 10 home room teacher at Port Credit Secondary School in the early 50´s but, if it is, I owe her a profound thank you. She was one of the few teachers I can remember having had some impact on my life and career. In my exuberance at the start of a class, I accidentally banged into her chair knocking her to the floor much to the class´s delight. I was expelled from the school for two weeks. It really was an accident and when I returned to class, she never mentioned the incident again. She never held a grudge against me and, at the end of the year, I was the only one in my class she exempted from writing the final exams. I always felt that she saw a little more potential in me than I ever saw in myself at a critical time in my life.

Just another teacher-librarian who fell under Fay´s magnetism and built a career on that foundation. So thankful to Fay and may she Rest In Peace. My condolences to the family. Fay will be missed but not forgotten and her legacy will live on.

One of the finest teachers I ever had in my life. She was empathetic and larger than life. I do not remember her as being short but I remember her as a force of nature in the classroom. She took time to teach us about life, music, and kindness.

She was truly a mentor and great ally of t-ls in Ontario , and beyond. She also inspired myself to join the honoured profession. RIP, Faye!

Fay, Lois Reimer, Kay Sigurjonsson and I toured southern England in 1963. We aimed at Land's End but didn't make it - we had been expecting to make Manitoba speeds on English roads. But a happy memory all the same. And when talking to Fay you could be sure of getting the message without the bark on it. May she rest in peace.
