Florence DEACON Obituary



DEACON, Florence Campbell.
Born in Toronto on June 12, 1919. Died peacefully in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island on January 10, 2014. Cherished wife of the late Donald MacKay Deacon OC, O.PEI, MC (d. 2003). Loving mother of Campbell (Jennifer), David (Nadine), Martha, Douglas (Barb), Richard (Susan) and Colin (Jennifer). Daughter of the late Gordon and Flora (née Johnson) Campbell, 'Sister' was predeceased by her four brothers, Donald, Colin, Gordon and John, and is survived by four Deacon sisters-in-law, Esther, Fran, Adelle and Kathleen. Loved 'Nanna' of seven granddaughters, Marion (d. 1992), Hélène (Marc Whalen), Gillian, Cecilia, Charlotte, Renée and Blake, and six grandsons, Jonas (Heather), Jeffrey (Krista), J. C. (Jessica), Rob (Rebecca), Tyler and Quin; three great-granddaughters, Elizabeth, Abigail, and Callie, and four great- grandsons, Jace, Palmer, Cole (Whalen) and Campbell. 'Aunt Sis' will also be missed by her Deacon and Campbell nieces and nephews. Celebrations of Florence's life will be held on Saturday, January 25 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity United Church in Charlottetown and at St. Paul's Anglican Church in Toronto at a date to be announced in the spring. Tea will follow in each case. If desired, it was her wish that donations be made to Trinity United Church, 220 Richmond St., Charlottetown, PE C1A 1J5, St. Paul's Anglican Church, 227 Bloor St. East, Toronto, ON M4W 1C8 or to The Townships Project, 147 - 4255 Arbutus St., P.O.
