Florence GEORGE Obituary



FLORENCE EVELYN GEORGE
Aged 64, passed away peacefully on the morning of November 26, 2017, in Toronto, Ontario. Surrounded by her husband, children and brother after valiantly enduring an extended battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was the daughter of Nave J. George and Florence E. George. Florence attended Mount St. Vincent Catholic School in Saint John New Brunswick, before attending Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Throughout her life Florence enjoyed exercising, swimming at the beach, dancing, going for walks and plenty of coffee. She achieved admirable success in her career as a top media executive at the advertising agency HYPN in Toronto. She was an incredibly sharp and gifted woman who showed infinite love and kindness to family, friends and work colleagues. Florence is survived by her husband Jay Bowen; children Joseph, Florence, Jesse, Maggie, Constance and Anne Bowen; sisters Justine George, Judith George, Monica Deane; brother Anthony George; and her mother Florence E. George. She also leaves behind 4 nieces and 3 nephews and numerous other relatives and close friends. There will be a service for family and friends at the MOUNT PLEASANT FUNERAL CENTRE, 375 Mount Pleasant Rd., Toronto (east gate entrance, north of St. Clair Ave., 416-485-5572) on Sunday, December 3rd, 2017, starting at 10:00 a.m., with a Celebration of Life to follow in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for and supported her during her battle with dementia. Especially Dr. Karen Chu who has been the family physician for over 9 years.
