Floyd was known for his strong work ethic, integrity, kindness, and reliability. Floyd was dedicated to his family, friends, and clients whom he served as portfolio manager and caring advisor for 50 years. Floyd's passion for flying led to his collaboration with Hope Air. Floyd flew over 60 flights to ensure people could reach the medical care they needed with speed and dignity. For his dedication, he received the prestigious 2025 BC Achievement Community Award. Floyd's entrepreneurial spirit led to the creation of the Odlum Brown VanOpen tennis tournament, which is the largest and most celebrated men's and women's pro tennis tournament in Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest. Dear Linda,
I was very sorry to hear of Floyd´s passing. I had known him for many years through our shared love of tennis, and I always admired his warmth and integrity.
I´ll always remember the pleasant evening when you and Floyd stopped by for drinks during your trip to Paris. It was clear how much you both loved France and Europe, and I´m grateful to have that as my lasting memory of Floyd - happy, curious, and full of enthusiasm.
Please accept my sincere condolences. My thoughts are with you and your family,
With warmest sympathy,
Valerie

We would like to extend our sympathies to The family of Floyd. He was a wonderful gentleman and we valued his financial expertise highly, no stupid question was a stupid question and he was always interested in you as a person not just a client. We were so impressed that he would take the time to fly to Salmon Arm to meet with us and introduce us to Odlum Brown. Thank you for sharing your husband and father with us.
