FLOYD HILL Obituary
It is with love and sadness that we share the passing of Floyd R. Hill, of Vancouver, who left us peacefully on September 21, 2025. Floyd was born on September 21, 1943, in Cadomin, Alberta. Floyd is survived by his wife, Linda Collins; his sister, Ella; children and step-children, Brad, Donald, Lindsey, Steven, Tavish, Tiena, and Zoe; and grandchildren, Angus, Claudia, Kelly, Lucas, and Maya. Floyd was known for his strong work ethic, integrity, kindness, and reliability. Floyd was dedicated to his family, friends, and clients whom he served as portfolio manager and caring advisor for 50 years. Floyd's passion for flying led to his collaboration with Hope Air. Floyd flew over 60 flights to ensure people could reach the medical care they needed with speed and dignity. For his dedication, he received the prestigious 2025 BC Achievement Community Award. Floyd's entrepreneurial spirit led to the creation of the Odlum Brown VanOpen tennis tournament, which is the largest and most celebrated men's and women's pro tennis tournament in Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest. Floyd will be remembered for his unwavering faith that everyone around him was capable of great change when dedicated to goals and dreams. A Celebration of Life will be held on October 8, 2025, at Shaughnessy Golf Course 2 – 5 p.m., where friends and family are invited to gather, share memories, and honor his life.
