I have just learned of Francis’s passing. I have wonderful memories of my cousin Francis and Romany Wood, vacationing at Aunt Hay’s cottage as a teen with my parents (Alfred and Dorothy Skeats) fifty plus years ago. Several years ago, while in Toronto, my husband and I again found Romany Wood and miraculously ran into Francis and his nephew. It was a wonderful reunion with a very special man. He surely will be missed.

So very sad to hear about the passing of Francis. I have some very fond memories of him. Any time I saw him at one of Betty's or Mum's parties - he was always so interested in what you were doing and there was great conversation. What an amazing and interesting life - may you rest in peace Francis xo

Francis, was and will always be, my favorite person. Who else can talk with a two year old about seagulls for half an hour? He did just that with our daughter , Emma, many years ago. Later, when she was in her teens, he wrote out a list of 'good reads' for her. All the books were greatly enjoyed. His presence had a calming effect on my father. So summers in Georgian bay were always best when the Chapman family arrived. He was a beautiful person, with an extraordinary mind. I speak for our family in saying that we feel both blessed and privileged to have known ,Francis. We send all our love to his wonderful family. There is joy and beauty in the midst of our journey. Mr Francis Chapman has found that joy and beauty in Gods faithful presence. Mr Francis Chapman spent his last years building his spiritual formation with the Lord and has made peace with himself in building that relationship with his maker. I am so delighted to share the joy he founded with God and how he embraced that love and extended it to everyone who cared for him. We miss you Francis but we will meet again in glory. Knowing that your soul is wrapped in sweet perfume and is in the loving arms of God is joy to us. We love you so much.

Such a privilege to have gotten to know Francis, when my son Anton fell in love with Sasha, and subsequntly the Chapmans and Helmans joined families. His intellectual curiosity and warmth will stay with me, and be remembered with great fondness.
