December 28, 1932 – April 30, 2025 Died April 30, 2025, peacefully, at the age of 92, at Tomkins House Hospice in Penetanguishene, Ontario. Ron was born at the height of the depression, to Rueben Francis Dobson and Catherine Wedseltoft. Dad lived in both Barrie and Orangeville during his youth, attending Prince of Wales Public School in Barrie, Orangeville Public School and Orangeville High School. He led a successful career at Royal Bank, InterCity Truck Lines, TNT Truck Lines and ended his career as Owner of Rievaulx Consulting. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy (predeceased) and loving father to Rhonda (Bryan), Cathy (Ray), Paul (Linda) and John (Teresa), and his many grandchildren: Alana, Charlotte (Mac), Michael, Eric, Jack, Marin and great granddaughter Hazel, and brother to Tom. Pops had so many interests including: playing cards but especially cribbage, travelling, roman history, collecting stamps and coins, building WWII airplane and tank models, reading historical books, watching British TV, and dabbling in water colours. The family would like to thank Bayshore Nursing, especially Natasha and Angela, Dr. Gannon, Dr. Caron, Raven, Rose and Helen for all the support he has received over the years. The family is especially grateful to Hospice Huronia for the care Dad received. An interment is planned for reuniting Dad and Mom on what would of been their 66th wedding anniversary, on August 22, 2025, in Georgetown. Details to follow.
