Frances Elizabeth TurnerFrances Elizabeth Turner, born April 23, 1962, passed away at the Halifax Infirmary in the early hours of December 3, 2016 after a brief three month struggle with cancer. With her was her loving husband Grant Schorn. Missing her terribly are her sister Hilary of Abbotsford, B. C. and brother Simon of Vancouver. Grant's children Emily, Nicholas and Stephen loved Frances and she loved them. She was pre-deceased by her parents Harry and Diane, and her brother Christopher. Frances was born in Toronto and raised in Hamilton and Caledonia, Ontario. She obtained her B.A. (Hon) in French from McMaster University and taught at the Sorbonne in Paris before earning her law degree from the University of Ottawa. Called to the bar in 1993, she practiced as a Crown Prosecutor in Kitchener, Kenora, Prince George, B. C., Belize Central America and Calgary, before retiring with Grant to their adopted and beloved new home on the south shore of Nova Scotia in the summer of 2016. Frances had a real passion for cooking and gardening. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the QE II foundation in Halifax.
