Frank FABIAN Obituary

FRANK JULIUS FABIAN Heaven welcomed an angel on July 4, 2023. Frank Fabian passed away after a courageous eight-year journey with genetic heart disease. By his side were his beloved wife of 42 years, Rita; and his children, Adam and Erika. Frank was born in Montreal in 1947 to wonderful parents, Frank and Mary Fabian, a younger brother to Nancy. They had a large and vibrant extended Hungarian family, with many delightful aunts, uncles and cousins. Frank earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from McGill University, and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario. After his studies, Frank moved to Toronto and enjoyed a long and successful career in the packaging and electronics industries. He gleefully retired as early as possible to focus on the important things in his life, like playing golf, fishing, dining with friends, DIY home improvements and napping. Frank adored his friends and family, and most of all, his dog, Delilah. He treasured his time spent with those he loved at the Islington Golf Club, on Go Home Lake, and in Sarasota. 'Frankie' will be deeply missed by his sister, Nancy Harris; brother-in-law, Don Harris; sister-in-law, Inta McChesney, and Douglas McChesney and their families. We will always remember his kind heart and friendly smile. He was intelligent, accomplished, hilarious and humble. We could go on… To honour the skilled and compassionate community of doctors and nurses who cared for Frank's complex heart over the years, the family would appreciate donations to the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre, the St. Michael's Foundation, or the St. Joseph's Health Centre. A private funeral has been held. There will be a celebration of Frank's life on July 20, 2023, from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the Islington Golf Club.

Just heard of Frank´s passing. We worked together at MEI for many years and Frank was always such a delight to be around. He was so quick with a smile and always so encouraging and kind. So sorry for the loss of your husband, father and just a true gentleman who I was so lucky to have crossed with in this lifetime.

I knew Frank (Fronc) as a sweet guy with a fun sense of humour and a great smile. He came across as a devoted and adoring husband / partner to a Smart Cookie wife, along with being a proud and loving Father. It seemed like he had all that mattered, because he did. Family and friends were his greatest assets and treasures. His love of the Princess Delilah and the experiences he cherished made him enviable and entertaining. Everyone will agree that Frank & Rita were superb hosts and guests. He will be greatly missed by many. Dottie will see ya on the other side.

Frank was a great guy, and a friend to his MBA classmates. Condolences to Rita - it was good to see you both at our class reunion in Victoria last fall.
