FREDA GRAHAM Obituary

February 2, 1934 – June 13, 2025 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Freda (Aphrodite) Graham, at the age of 91, surrounded by her loving family. Freda was the devoted wife of the late Fred Graham, with whom she shared 67 years of love, partnership, and adventure. She was the cherished daughter of the late George Sapuntjis and Thomais Grouios, and lovingly embraced by her second mother, Fanni Sapuntjis. Freda was the beloved older sister of the late Paul and Betty. Family was at the center of Freda's world. She was a proud and loving mother to Byron (Christina), Robert (Karen), and Craig (Joanne); and a deeply cherished "YiaYia" to her grandchildren, Andrea (Collin), Alex, Athan, Sarah, Theo, and David. Freda lived an extraordinary life marked by devotion, community, and a passion for music. A woman of deep faith, she and Fred were instrumental in the founding and growth of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church. She sang in the choir, played the organ, and was an active member of the Philoptochos Society. She also contributed to the Family Council at the Hellenic Home for the Aged, where she spent her final years with grace and dignity. Born and raised in Toronto, Freda attended Loretto Abbey, where her appreciation and love for music first flourished. A respected piano teacher in the Lansing community, she inspired countless children to discover, pursue, and enjoy music. Tea Lake held a very special place in Freda's heart. It was the backdrop where decades of family memories were created, which included regattas, excursions, the joyful sounds of her grandchildren, and quiet moments with loved ones. Freda will be remembered for her laughter, wit, kindness, strength, and unwavering love. Her warmth and generosity touched all who knew her, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved. We would like to extend our special thanks to the wonderful caregivers at the Hellenic Home, for their unwavering support and love for our mother. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 20, from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., at the Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre, 375 Mount Pleasant Rd., Toronto. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 21, at 10:00 a.m., in the chapel at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to All Saints Greek Orthodox Church (416) 221-4611, or The Hellenic Home for the Aged. https://hellenichome.org/online-donation/

I´m a 2nd cousin of Freda who was 7yrs. older. Our families & other Greek relatives grew up & lived within blocks of each other in the 40s & 50s. I remember her as is described in her obit, a happy, outgoing & lovely cousin who like all Greeks was so proud of her heritage.
