LARGE, Frederick Stewart (Stew)
On Sunday July 9th, 2006 at the Oakville- Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, after suffering a stroke. Beloved husband of Elizabeth (Ibby Bradshaw). Devoted and much loved father of Beth, Ross and Clare, and father in law of Bill McCracken and Elaine Webster. Loving grandfather (Gump) of Shannon and Jamie McCracken, and Thomas, Daniel and Maggie Large. Dear brother of Helen McLaughlin and the late Mary Trow and brother in law of Dick and Val Bradshaw, the late George Trow and the late Jim McLaughlin. Educated at Upper Canada College, University of Toronto, Trinity College and Columbia University. During WW11 from 1941-1945 Stew served as an officer in the RCNVR, on loan to the Royal Navy-Coastal Forces. He had a long and distinguished career in Independent Schools as a teacher and administrator, completing his career at Appleby College from 1974 to 1987. A Service of Thanksgiving celebrating the life of Stewart to be held 2:00pm Monday, July 17, 2006 at the John Bell Chapel, Appleby College, 546 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville. The family gratefully acknowledges the excellent nursing care at OTMH.
