I should have said that I was at UCC with Fred, John and John Bassett. All super guys. Might have been John B's ride to MLG. We could sneak out from the ground floor.

It has been a genuine pleasure knowing Fred during our years at UNB and since. I have truly enjoyed and valued his friendship and loyalty over the years. He was a remarkable person who contributed so much to so many.
Two years or so ago, Fred called and said “Jimmy, we must have lunch.”. Regretfully, circumstances prevented this.
To Nicky and all family, please accept my heartfelt condolences.

I had the pleasure of working at the Cornwall Centre store in Regina and Fredrik was always so approachable and always took the time for a small chat. I still have many of the Christmas cards that we as employees would receive. Thank you for the great memories and the true family spirit that was in all of the stores in Canada. Rest in Peace

Mrs Eaton, Catherine & Fred,
Mr Eaton will be missed up on The Bay. It was always entertaining seeing the interesting and creative water and aircraft around McBrien island. One of my fondest memories of the Eaton fleet is of Volunteer gracefully cutting through the waves into a fresh NW breeze. May he rest in peace with the wind across his stern.

Mr. Eaton was a true gentleman and treated myself, and all employees, like they were truly members of the T.Eaton company/team/family. I loved my time with the company and have good memories of Mr.Eaton’s visit to my little Huntsville store. We were all blessed to have known him and my prayers are with the entire Eaton family.

My sincerest condolences to Nicky, Catherine, Frederik D'Arcy and his grandchildren. Canada has lost an accomplished and valued son.
Frederik Eaton and I served on the Board of Hollinger together and he always supported me in doing the right thing no matter what. This could not have been easy for him, given his long friendship with Conrad. His integrity and willingness to speak up in favour of the right thing to do
never wavered. He was unique in that.
Frederik was a man of accomplishment and style. I had the privilege of a last conversation with him a couple of weeks ago and his reaching out to me was something I will always treasure.
It was a privilege and a pleasure to have known and worked with Frederik and I will miss his humour and his generous nature.

Mr. Eaton was a Trustee and later Chair of the Board of the Canadian Museum of History, when I served as Corporate Secretary and Director General of the Canadian War Museum. He cared deeply about the management and staff of both museums, and was constantly supportive in our efforts to achieve success. It was an honour to work for him, and to later call him a friend. I will miss him always.

A great man, just lovely to be around. Fred never, ever seemed to forget a name. He would walk through the store and know everybody - except the new employees, and he would introduce himself. My fondest memory is of him not trusting me to hook up a new turntable (I did) and him trying to convince my mother that she should like Billy Joel (she did not). Great guy. Sincerest condolences to Nicky, Fred, Catherine and grand children from the Prendergast family.

I am writing this on behalf of my brother in law, Ken Borutski. He started in August 1961 in the camera department at Queen and Yonge.
He worked until the Eaton Centre closed. He received his diamond ring. Fred always stopped and chatted with Ken when making his rounds. Ken sends his sincerest condolences to his family.
