GARY DOUGLAS GEORGE JOYNER February 19, 1966 - August 19, 2023 Gary, a devoted husband, father, son, brother, nephew and uncle, passed away on August 19, 2023, after a valiant and courageous fight against cancer. Gary's life was a testament to strength, resilience and unwavering love. Gary's legacy of love and devotion is survived by his cherished wife, Barb (Stock), who stood by his side through every trial and triumph. Together, they lived life with laughter and love for each other and their children. Gary's children, Kyla (predeceased), Alana and Teygan were his pride and joy and a source of endless motivation. His role as a father was marked by his unwavering support, "dad" jokes and a caring balance between guidance and fun. While mourning Gary's passing, his family finds solace in the reunion he shares with Kyla, his father, Doug, and his mother-in-law, Georgia (Stock), who predeceased him. He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Marilyn who, with his father, Doug, instilled in him the values of kindness, humour and a strong work ethic. He is also survived by his sisters, Alison Fardy (Geoff), Sheryl Joyner-Fraser (Ian) and Lee Duncan (Brent), who will forever remember the good times and bond that they shared. Gary's nieces and nephews will always cherish the memories of their attentive and encouraging uncle (Funcle) who showed them love and support. His aunts and cousins in B.C. and Alberta will miss his joyful spirit. Throughout his life, Gary touched the hearts of all those fortunate enough to know him. In his school days, he forged friendships that stood the test of time. His pals from those golden years shared in escapades that are still whispered about today. Gary's charisma and knack for turning colleagues into lifelong friends made him a force to be reckoned with in business and in life. His warm smile, kind heart and boundless generosity left an indelible mark on the lives he touched. Gary's spirit will forever live on in the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to know him. The family will receive friends at the Humphrey Funeral Home A.W. Miles - Newbigging Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville) from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 27th. A Celebration of Life, where family and friends will come together to honour and remember the remarkable man that Gary was, will be held on Saturday, September 9th at 7:00 p.m. at the Balmy Beach Club, 360 Lake Front, Toronto, ON M4E 1A7. In his memory, the family requests that any donations be made in his name to Sinai Health Foundation (Sarcoma Oncology Department) as a tribute to Gary's life well-lived, unwavering spirit and determination in fighting this devastating disease that took him too soon.
