Geoffrey COOK Obituary
GEOFFREY R. COOK P.Eng., 1927 - 2023 Born in England and educated at Dartford Grammar School and Imperial College London, Geoffrey died on February 16, 2023, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Geoffrey worked on cooling towers and the Great Ouse Flood Protection Scheme in England before immigrating to Canada in 1957 with his wife and young daughter. He worked for the H.G. Acres company in Niagara Falls and then for a construction company in Western Ontario, before adding a son and moving to Toronto in 1960. After supervising a bridge construction for the T.T.C, Geoffrey joined the Proctor & Redfern Group, eventually becoming vice president Structures and Buildings. He was highly regarded throughout the industry and was awarded the Engineering Medal for Engineering Excellence in 1992, the year he retired. Retirement gave Geoffrey and his wife the time to be able to travel extensively which was a great joy for them. He will be sorely missed by all the family and his many friends.
