ASHWORTH, George
British Army World War II veteran, member 36th Ulster Division Old Comrades Association. Died peacefully at Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital on Thursday, January 29th, 1998 in his 84th year. Beloved husband for twenty-five years of the late Mary Ashworth (nee Lex Nash) and recent dear friend and companion of Helen Dougherty. Much loved father and father-in-law of Jean Ashworth Bartle and Donald Bartle, Joan and Ross Flavelle, Jean and Terry Gould, Leonard David Nash and Joan Bennell, Geri and Bruce Taylor, and Anne and Bob Tsisko. Lovingly remembered by 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Survived by sister Hylda Allison (Hurstead, England) and sister-in-law Do Cameron. Predeceased by sister Elsie Pollard. A memorial service will be held Monday, February 2nd, 1998 in the Carfrae Chapel at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, 375 Mount Pleasant Rd., Toronto at 11 a.m. Interment of cremated remains will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice. A very special thank-you to Dr. Peter Bolland whose care, compassion and understanding made the past 2 months easier for George and the family. Thanks also to the nurses and support staff on 4 East at Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital for their very kind attention to his every need.
