DUNCAN, George Maxwell (Jack)
Passed away peacefully, knowing how wonderful his life had been, in London on Saturday, September 19, 1998, in his 87th year. Beloved husband for 55 years of the late Lois Duncan (nee Richardson). Dear father of Susan (Patterson) of London and Waupoos and Rod Duncan of Caledon. Loving grandfather to Jennifer Duncan of Toronto, Jake Duncan of Dawson City, Geordie Patterson of Ottawa and Duncan Patterson of London. Brother of Margaret (Bud) Hawkins of Burlington. Predeceased by his sister Dorothy Primeau, his son-in-law Dr. Paul Patterson and by so many life-long friends. He never really lost a friend. Jack graduated from O.A.C. in Guelph to become a Master Brewer and Director of Product Development for Carling-O'Keefe and mentor to many in the industry, an explorer for oil and minerals, and entrepreneur, a philosopher, poet, story-teller, humorist, landscape painter, a competitive paddler (Boulevard Club). He was a great lover of life, a true bon vivant. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, September 25th at Islington United Church, 25 Burnhamthorpe Road, Etobicoke. Memorial donations may be made to Mississauga Hospital Foundation for Oncology, 100 Queensway West, Mississauga L5B 1B8.
