GEORGE EDWARD CECIL FINE Passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2023. Son of the late Natalie and Samuel Fine. Beloved husband of Lois Fine, and the late Golda Fine. Loving father and father-in-law of Gary and Tamara. Dear brother and brother-in-law of the late Jack and Valerie Fine, the late Ruth and Marvin Sadowski, and the late Michael and Sheila Weinberg. He will be sadly missed as well by Lois's children, Jackie, Eric and Dina, Margot and David, and their families. George led a life replete with success in numerous endeavours, including law, entrepreneurship and philanthropy; however, none that he was more proud of than his family. He mentored many, and will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known him. A special thank you to all of his care-givers and doctors: Dr. Chrysta Sinclair, Vlad Cuello, Marlyn Solis, Ailyn Taqueban, Christina Aquino, Olivia Martins, and all the doctors and staff of the Temmy Latner Centre. At Holy Blossom Temple, 1950 Bathurst Street (south of Eglinton) for service on Tuesday, August 15 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Blossom Memorial Park. Memorial donations can be made to the Temmy Latner Palliative Care Centre, www.tlcpc.org, 416-586-8203.

Through an unexpected connection, Andrew and I had the pleasure of introducing George to the owner of a farm which George and Golda had owned for many years, north of the city. The visit to the farm and lunch following evoked many happy memories for George and Gary, and enjoyed by Lois. The owner of the farm was thrilled to have met George and learn his history when there. Among my many sweet memories of George, this is one where I was able to do something special for him.
