Growing up with George´s daughter, Mhairi, I would spend days in the Martins´ house, playing, working, eating, laughing. When I was 12 his accent intimidated me. As I grew older, I realized what a kind, gentle, warm man he was. He loved his children. He was open, candid, and funny. I wish I had seen him more in the last few years. He remains vivid and vivacious in my mind, and I´m sure, in the minds and hearts of the hundreds of people his life touched.
