I am absolutely gutted to hear about Reed passing. He was simply an awesome human being. I have known Reed for a few decades and have worked with him, complained about work with him, played hockey with him, complained about hockey with him and just really enjoyed talking to him. He was always quick to talk about the church and his amazing family. My condolences to Jill, Jennie and Meredith and the rest of the family

I worked with Reed during his time at OSFI. He was a true gentleman and always carried himself with class. His intellect and ability to connect with people were the first aspects I noticed about him. Having lost my own father earlier than expected, I know the pain all too well and hope his family finds the strength needed to get through this.

I worked with Reed for many years at RBC and remember fondly speaking to him on so many topics, he was always well informed and ready to engage and discuss nearly anything. Mondays always had a tale of weekend running, hockey or chanting or especially his family.
My condolences to Jill, Jennie and Meredith – I’m sure you have many great memories to sustain you.

It was great getting to know Reed over the last few years. While his time at OSFI was short, our conversations were always meaningful and he really was a true gentleman. I was also fortunate on occasion to run into Reed in the neighbourhood, after his choir time at the Church of St. Mary Magdalene and connect with him over the phone. Reed spoke fondly of the family, especially during this last year together - please accept my deepest condolences and take care.

My deepest sympathies to Jill, Meredith and Jennie. I worked with Reed for many years at RBC and although I never met any of you it was evident from the many stories he shared that he adored, loved and admired the three of you. Words always fail at times like this. Keep his memory in your heart and one day it will bring more smiles than tears.

I did not know Reed personally, but felt as if I knew him from the wonderful stories and bits of information gleaned from his wife, Jill. I'm not surprised to read just how much he contributed to so many in his life. It is clear he was an amazing person, and will continue to leave behind a beautiful legacy. My sincere condolences to Jill, Meredith, Jennie and all those who will dearly miss Reed.

Reed was my fraternity brother in Pi lambda phi at the university of Toronto in 1980.
He was a great brother - happy, supportive, enthusiastic and kind.
It was a privilege to be Reeds brother. Not 4 years but a lifetime.
Rest In Peace Reed.

I grew up with Reed at Forest Hill Collegiate. We were good friends through high school. When he went to the University of Toronto, I brought Reed into the fraternity at U of T called Pi Lambda Phi. We had several good parties. At the time, 1983 we had a "Who Shot JR", that attracted a few hundred guests at our house on Robert Street. Needless to say, the landlord was not very happy about that party and our unbridled popularity. Reed was a super guy, a complete gentleman, very friendly, and everyone liked him. I am so sorry for the family's loss. My sincere condolences to the family. Sincerely, Jay Scolnick

I never had the pleasure to meet Reed, but I am so lucky to have one of his daughters as my close friend. The influence he has had on Meredith is evident in the way she chooses to live her life - with curiosity, vigour, and grace. My deepest condolences to Jill, Mere, and Jennie. Keeping you close in my heart.

Reed and I played a lot of squash together years ago...We had a large group of regulars that he was a part of.
He was a good player but more importantly he was always a good person...always interesting and always interested in what you were doing..I know he had been in ill health for a long time but I am very sorry to hear this news
