George OLIVER Obituary

George Oliver, MBA, CINP, died peacefully at home on March 26, 2024, in his 67th year. In death as in life, Eileen was by his side, the love of his life. Would that we could "stop all the clocks" to deeply mourn this honourable dude, described by his family doctor as the "top of the pack," but we must "keep rolling" and carry him in our hearts. George is predeceased by his parents, June and Lloyd Oliver; father-in-law, Frank Butts, and his blessed trio of unconditional lovelies: Lucy, Lou and darling Jordan. George is survived by Eileen, his courageous bride of 28 years; his mother-in-law, Kathleen Butts; his brothers Doug (Ann), John, David (Renee); brothers-in-law Peter (Ellen), and Chris (Martha). He will be terribly missed by his wonderful nieces and nephews and their gifted children: Jeff (Kelly), Lauryn, Marisa, Leanne (Brandon), Megan, Emma, Greg (Karen), Jacob, Kaila, Mack (Rose), Jade, Rijker, Stephanie (Ian), Pam (Kris), Darryl (Kristi), Joshua and Jacob, Tyler (Alex), Adam (Jessie), Nicholas (Katrina). A modest man of influence, George was an award winning athlete and coach, a Valedictorian, and a former IBM Plant Manager. As President of BGO Consulting he was grateful to work with exceptional clients like the Cleveland Clinic, CBC, OVC, MDS, PPS, and GLAM. An amazing Sunnybrook Heart Pal, a former featured runner, a marathon man, a dedicated Terry Fox runner, a board member for Future Aces Foundation, Horizons for Youth, and West Hill United. He was proud to be a friend of the late, great Dr. Herbert H. Carnegie. He adored his cottage life at Skeleton Lake and every minute of fun on every road trip with Eileen. It must be said that George suffered a "world of pain" in his later years & chronic illness was a constant companion. Thanks to Dr. Linda Saunders, Dr. Bruce Lubelsky, and Dr. Jorge Soni for their care and compassion. Always. George's desire for a celebration of life was carefully observed while he lived. Give to a great cause, if you can, in George's honour. Go in Peace. "The Dude Abides". "Life is short, but it's wide." - Ken Walsh.

Oh my beautiful Eileen...I stumbled across this obit when looking for a different George Olliver who recently passed. When you and George stayed at the Stream B&B so many years ago, you felt instantly like family. I loved you both so fiercely. A life well lived, that was obvious. But now, I imagine your sadness, your pain. I'm hugging you from my new home in Kaladar, Ontario. I wish I could find you.

Dear Eileen.I am so sad to learn that George has left us, but grateful that his suffering is now over. He was such a sweet , caring gentleman and an all around great guy . Wonderful to work with and a delight to be with . I'm amazed at how he kept up his spirits even though he was suffering . I know you were the light and the love that kept him going. May his memory be a blessing.
Much love to you Eileen ,

Eileen, our hearts are saddened to hear of George's passing. He, with you by his side, fought so bravely for so long.
George and I had 2 things in common....Skeleton Lake where I spent many summers at my family cottage. George and I often reminisced about our respective adventures on the lake! You could hear in his voice how much he loved the cottage! The other thing we had in common, I now learn, is Future Aces and Dr. Herb Carnegie who was my families next door neighbour! Our families grew up together often living in each others home! I'm sorry George and I didn't get an opportunity to talk about that coincidence! Although our paths did not cross often at West Hill, it was obvious in our conversations that George was a passionate, bright, engaged, and caring man!
Sending our love and a wish that memories you shared together will bring you joy and peace.

George was a delight! Our deepest condolences to the whole family and especially to Eileen, who was an amazing pillar of love and support. Even during our last visit, George's sense of humour was undiminished and humbling, despite the pain he was suffering. We will truly miss him so much and Milverton just won't be the same without him. Long live the parade of unconditional love in George's honour.

Eileen, I will always remember George as the person who will speak his mind, share his words and open the world to perspective. I can hear his voice even now as I type this message. George was my image of strength, of a great mighty oak or a crashing wave against a granite cliff. He pushed against odds, creating a path for others to journey. Thank you George.

I was so very saddened when I read of George's death on the weekend. He was in grade 10 when we opened Governor Simcoe S.S.in 1971, and he was one of a group of friends who spent time in the Library where I was the Head, and continued to use & enjoy the library for his whole career at Simcoe, whenever he had free time away from school activities, and sports. He was "one of my kids" as we teachers say, and aperson who was a pleasure to
know. He was an excellent, responsible and bright student, so I am not surprised by the positive things he accomplished after leaving high school.
My thoughts are with the family-Eileen, Doug, Dave & John, and the many friends who will all miss him so much.
