George SNIDER Obituary

GEORGE ALLAN SNIDER Al passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 21 2018 in his 88th year. He was the youngest of three sons of Leigh and Kathleen Snider, and predeceased by brothers, Tom and Jack. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Louise; his children, Mary, Anne (Frank Baldanza), Margaret (Rory Snider- McGrath); his much loved grandchildren, Michael, Benjamin, Christina, and Spencer; and step- grandchildren, Mallory and Gillian. Al was a man of integrity who lived a rich and full life, giving much of himself to others. He enjoyed a lengthy career in education, and wherever he was located (Streetsville, Sault Ste. Marie, Parry Sound, and Oshawa), always gave of his time to the community. Al was a wonderful family man, always encouraging his loved ones to expand their horizons through education, travel, sports and community service. He will be deeply missed. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the entire staff at Thornton View Long Term Care Home for their compassion and excellent care. Family and friends will be received at Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East, Oshawa for visitation on Thursday, July 26th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place at St. George's Memorial Anglican Church (Centre and Bagot Streets, Oshawa) on Friday, July 27th at 11 a.m. A private family interment will take place in Simcoe, Ontario at a later date.
