George TURNER

GEORGE ROBERT TURNER M.D., C.C.F.P. Fellow of the College of Family Physicians of Canada passed away with family at his side at Trillium Hospital in Mississauga on Sunday morning, January 9, 2022. He was in his 82nd year. Son of George Turner and Annie Mabel Turner (née Baird) of Etobicoke, he is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Jane Andreae Turner; daughter Sandra (Tys), son James, and grandchildren Emma and Benjamin Turner-Theijsmeijer; as well as his sister Lynn Turner. Bob was born on September 7, 1940 in Toronto and graduated from the University of Toronto Medicine in 1965. He had a private practice in Etobicoke, and worked at St. Joseph's, the Queensway, Runnymede and West Park Hospitals. He had many hobbies, including skiing, cycling, model airplanes and home renovation, all of which he tackled with great skill and aplomb. He greatly enjoyed spending time with the family and walking the dogs on their rural property north of the Town of Durham. The family would like to thank staff at the Trillium Health Partners - Mississauga Hospital for their care of Bob. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be organized for the spring. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society.
