GERALD MILLER Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gerald "Gerry" Miller, who passed away peacefully, after a short but fierce battle with cancer on March 26, 2025, at the age of 69. Gerry was born in Vancouver to Marlene and Remie Miller, and grew up in Kelowna, BC, with his brothers, Ralph, Rick, Dennis and sister, Pattie. It was in Kelowna where he met the love of his life, Patricia "Trish" Cook in high school. Gerry is survived by his wife of 48 years, Trish; and his three sons, Justin (Katherine, Melina, Joe), Bryce (Celeste, Wren) and Sheldon (Danielle, Parker June). After a long and successful professional career as an executive with West Fraser Timber, he spent his retirement serving on the board of Granite REIT, travelling the world with Trish, playing golf, enjoying time with his family, and most of all, having fun every day. Gerry was a hard worker, devoted husband, proud father and grandfather, and a lover of life, who will be dearly missed. We would like to extend our tremendous gratitude to the staff at VGH who made his final days comfortable. There will be no public service, and in lieu of flowers, please make any donations to the BC Cancer Foundation.

Very sad news. I first met Gerry in 2011 when we, and others, joined the new Board of MID, that later morphed into Granite REIT. Over the following 6 years we all became good business colleagues and friends, too. A man of impeccable integrity, with always a smile and laughter, yet serious, skilled, talented in the world of accounting. A light has gone out far too early...Sincerest condolences to Trish and family. Barry

So sorry, Trish to hear of Gerry´s passing. He seemed so happy and well when we saw him last year. Such a wonderful visit we had. We hope that you are finding peace and comfort in your time of grieving. And the same for the boys and families. Thinking of you, love, Bill and Mary-Lou

Very sorry to hear about Gerry's passing. We enjoyed playing golf with Gerry for a couple of years, after he moved to Tsawwassen. He was a very nice man; our condolences to the family.

Very very sad to hear this news. I had the pleasure of working alongside Gerry on the Granite Board - he was a gentleman and a true pro. My deepest sympathies to Gerry's family and friends.

I was very shocked and saddened to hear this news. Gerry was the consummate professional and I enjoyed working with him during my tenure as CFO and CEO at Granite. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.
