Hospital administration lost one of its luminaries with the peaceful passing of Gerald P. Turner on November 16, 2025, at the age of 95. Gerald served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Mount Sinai Hospital, was a member of numerous government, university and society boards and committees, and the recipient of many awards including the Queen's Silver Jubilee Medal. Oldest son of Lorry and Shirley Turbovsky. Cherished brother of Harvey, the late Eugene, and the late Carol. Beloved husband of Donna and the late Clare. Dear father and father-in-law of Robin and Marc, Daryl, and the late Neil. Revered grandfather of Lisa, Brian, Justin, and Nicole. Adored great-grandfather of Damian, Brooklyn, and Naya. Service on Wednesday, November 19th, at 12 p.m. at Temple Emanu-El, 120 Old Colony Road (east off Bayview, south of Sheppard). Interment in the Keltzer Society section of Dawes Road Cemetery.
