Gerald WALDMAN Obituary



WALDMAN, Gerald Howard

Passed away at Princess Margaret Hospital on September 28th, 2012 where he succumbed to multiple myeloma. He was born on February 8th, 1954 in Moose Jaw Saskatchewan to Harold and Toba (Rabofsky) Waldman. Gerald grew up in the small city of Moose Jaw Saskatchewan where he graduated from Central High. During his later teenage years Gerald moved to Saskatoon when his family relocated their company headquarters. Later he graduated from the College of Commerce at the University of Saskatchewan. Throughout Gerald's life he displayed a strong passion for aviation and technology but most of all spending time with his family. Gerald worked for the family soft drink business, Beverage Central Inc., eventually rising through the ranks to become its Chief Operating Officer. Here Gerald honed his talent in logistics and operations management. After the sale of the family business Gerald moved to Toronto where he continued to pursue a career in technology and analytics. Gerald is lovingly remembered by his wife Dorothy Gordon and his children Daniel, Hayley, Abby and his stepson Jake Ringwald. Gerald and Dorothy where married for 11 years and lived in Toronto. Gerald will be fondly remembered by his brother Ronald (Shannon) Waldman and his niece Molly Waldman and nephews H. Zachary and Max Waldman, mother in-law Hedy Clara Gordon and brother and sister in-law Judy (Ian) Shapiro and as well as his extended family and friends. The funeral and interment was held Sunday, September 30th 2012 at Pardes Shalom Cemetery. We would like to take this opportunity to recognize Dr. Christine Chen whose care and expertise helped inspire Gerald throughout the duration of his illness.
