GIL CORNBLUM
Gil Cornblum died in Toronto on October 26, 2009 in his 39th year. Born on April 12, 1970 in Ashkelon, Israel to Anca and Eugene Cornblum, he was the older brother of Alan Cornblum. Gil married Marilyn Dressler on June 4, 2000. They had a very happy marriage and on February 5, 2002, Marilyn gave birth to Max. Gil graduated from The University of Toronto Schools and went on to The University of Western Ontario. In 1994, he graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School with a joint LLB/MBA. Called to the bar in 1996, he worked as a corporate securities lawyer. Until May, 2008, he was a partner at Dorsey Whitney law firm. Gil was an avid art collector and had a keen eye for colour and style. His passions included reading, travelling with his family, and playing with his son. Mostly, Gil lived for his family and was extremely close to his wife and devoted to his only son. Gil leaves his wife and son, his parents, only brother and many friends. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 28 at Benjamin's Park Memorial Chapel at 2401 Steeles Ave W. Shiva will take place immediately after the funeral at 47 Farnham Avenue and continue until November 3, from 2-5 p.m. and 6:30-8 p.m. Donations may be made to the Gil Cornblum Funds at either the Toronto East General Hospital or to Canadian Blood Services.
