(August 9, 1930 – November 8, 2025) With great sadness and much love, we bid farewell to the beloved anchor of our family, Giovanni (John) Gaetano Giannone, who passed away on November 8, 2025, at the age of 95 years. Giovanni is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Giuseppina (née Montemurro); his adoring children, Frank (Marina), Toni (Federico), Mariana, and Ralph (Pina); and forever cherished and remembered by his grandchildren, Christina (Kent), John (Megan), David (Lauren), Robert (Arianna), Nicole, Valentina, Gian Lorenzo, Massimo, and Luca. His memory will undoubtedly live on with his great-grandchildren, Jack, Emma, Ruby, Frankie, Pearl, and Leo. Giovanni will be lovingly remembered by his caring siblings, Melina, Mario (Anna), and Maria; and predeceased brother, Giuseppe (Rosa). Giovanni was born on August 9, 1930, in Pisticci, Matera, Italy, where he lived until 1958 when he immigrated to Toronto, Canada, to be reunited with the love of his life, Antonia Giuseppina Montemurro, who had arrived the year before. They married and within the year started their family. Soon after Giovanni, together with his two close friends from Pisticci, founded a successful masonry contracting firm. In 1981, he took the next step of setting up Fram Building Group, as a homebuilder. Over the years, under his leadership and together with his family, the company evolved from a single-family builder to a mixed-use developer in Canada and the United States. Giovanni had an immense love for Canada but never lost his devotion to his Italian homeland, which he visited countless times, together with Giuseppina to spend time with family and old friends. In 2006, he had the opportunity to give back to his hometown of Pisticci with the restoration of Hotel Torre Fiore, a 16th C fortified farm of which he was immensely proud. Here at home, Giovanni was a leader in the industry and an inspiring mentor for those who had the privilege of working side-by-side with him. As a consummate visionary and builder, his work was very important to him, however, he devoted his life to his family, his home, and his garden - all his greatest pride and joy. Giovanni, Gianni, John, Giuann, Giua', Dad, Papa', Nonno, (choose one to call him by), leaves behind an inspiring legacy of what is possible with hard work, commitment, mentorship, honesty, fairness, and a contagious passion for building and for family that he has undoubtedly passed on to his children and his grandchildren who each carry his unmistakable imprint. He will be greatly missed and will always be remembered. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Peel Chapel, 2180 Huronatio Street, Mississauga, on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 2:00–9:00 p.m. A private family funeral will take place at a later date with eventual burial at Springcreek Cemetery, Mississauga. If desired, donations may be made in memory of Giovanni Giannone to Hospice Mississauga at
