ARCHER, Glen Edmund
Peacefully, on November 22, 2006, after a few months of readiness, in his 92nd year, Glen Edmund Archer, husband to Carol (Rountree) until her death in 1982, father of Rod (and Mary Ann), Brad (and Mary), and Pat; grandfather to Robin and Adam, Danielle and Megan, all of Toronto; brother of the late Ross (Anne), Lloyd (and Dorothy) of California and the late Harold. He will be sadly missed by Irene Wright who brought much love and care to his last years. He outlived most of his oldest and closest friends.
Born in Paisley, Ontario in 1915 - another era, filled with tales he recorded for his descendants - he was later resident in Montreal, Peterborough and Toronto and spent most of his business career with Domtar Construction Materials Limited.
The family wishes to express its gratitude to the staff at Central Park Lodge (Queens Drive), the Temmy Latner Centre and the Baycrest Palliative Care Unit for their compassionate care in easing his last and challenging months.,
Friends may call at the Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, east of the Jane subway, on Friday, November 24th from 5 - 8:30 p.m. A service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, November 25th at one o'clock, followed by cremation. His ashes will be scattered at the family summer place in Bic, Quebec. Donations to the charity of your choice would be gratefully acknowledged.
