GLENDA URMONEIT Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Glenda Urmoneit, a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, who passed away peacefully on January 19, 2025, with her daughter at her side. Glenda was born on November 15, 1934, in Bathurst, New Brunswick, the daughter of the late Frank and Laura (Frenette) Grant. Glenda is survived by her only daughter, Laura; and her three cherished grandchildren, Emily, Alexander, and Isabella. She was a devoted and loving grandmother, and her pride in her grandchildren was boundless. Glenda also leaves behind many family members, friends, and extended relatives who will miss her deeply. She was predeceased by her husband, Fred Urmoneit; and her sister, Vivian, whose memories she held dear throughout her life. Known for her warmth, generosity, and infectious laughter, Glenda touched the hearts of everyone who knew her. She had a remarkable ability to make others feel seen, valued, and loved. Whether celebrating life with friends at a party, enjoying a quiet moment with family, or offering support and kindness, Glenda's presence was a gift to those fortunate enough to be in her company. For 32 years, Glenda worked with dedication at the Globe and Mail, where she was admired and respected by her colleagues. Her work ethic and loyalty were unwavering, and she was proud of the relationships she built throughout her career. Glenda's love for her family was unparalleled, and she will always be remembered for her deep devotion to those she held most dear. Her laughter, love, and kindness will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on, forever cherished by her daughter, grandchildren, nieces, nephew, family and friends. Rest in peace, Glenda. Your legacy of love, kindness, and joy will continue to inspire us all. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 25th, at 1:00 p.m. at the Ridley Funeral Home, located at 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. in Etobicoke.
