I was in Whitehorse YT this last week (February 22) when I heard this sad news. I met Glen in Whitehorse in the late 1990s. He was drafting oil and gas legislation for the YTG in his inimical way. My job was to facilitate engagement between YTG/Glen and Yukon First Nations. Glen was open to that although in many ways it was beyond his ken, but not for lack of sympathy! I knew of Glen by reputation as the long-time drafter of Alberta´s oil and gas legislation many years before I met him, and it was a privilege to have the opportunity to work with him. Some years later I was across the (dinner) table from the Hon Peter Lougheed and I mentioned Glen´s name to him. We both agreed that he deserved to be included as an inductee of the Order of Alberta. Glen took the trouble to stay in touch over the years with phone calls out of the blue, and it was always a treat to hear his vibrant voice. I miss that chance to talk to him again. Condolences to his family.

I will miss Glen very much. He was my boss and friend for many years, a kind and generous soul who was good to all. He and June changed my and my family's life many years ago when they took a chance on a young new mom trying to start a home business. Glen thought the world of his family, and I am so sorry for your loss. He will continue to watch over you, just as he always did. God bless you all.
