GORDON MACNAMARA Obituary
GORDON MACNAMARA (1910 2006) It is with sadness that we announce the death of Gordon on April 15th , 2006 at his home. Gordon was a self-taught Expressionist painter. Formerly a lawyer, Gordon experimented with some drawing and painting in his spare time and found it deeply satisfying. It was partly as a result of the War World War II not the Boer War, feeling the army was as close as one wants to getting incarcerated, that his attention began to be pulled more and more towards painting. Gordon resigned from the bar in 1954 and concentrated fully on the artist within, finding his 'voice' and feeling great conviction and passion through his painting. Friends and family are invited to visit Gordon one last time at his beloved Studio Building, 25 Severn Street, on Monday April 17th from 4:00 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday April 18th from 10:00 a.m. 9:00 p.m. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorial donations to Casey House or the Fred Victor Mission would be deeply appreciated. Arrangements entr usted to The Simple Alternative Funeral Centre, 416-441-1580 .
