Gordon NAVIS Obituary

GORDON JOHN MATTHEW NAVIS Gordon John Matthew Navis, 82, passed away peacefully at Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, on May 12, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marlene (nee McDougald); and his daughters, Heather and Leslie. Gord was born in Toronto on November 28, 1940. Gord was predeceased by his parents Borden and Olive Navis and brother Allen. Gord attending Bedford Park PS and Lawrence Park CI, where he excelled at both track and football. He attended both McGill University and University of Manitoba. Gord had a successful business practice for over 50 years. He will be fondly remembered by his family and friends for his zest for life and a good conversation. He enjoyed sports, big band, architecture, and traveling the world. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023, from 2 – 4 p.m. at Glen Abbey Golf Club. A few words in honour of Gord will be said at 3:00 p.m. The Navis family would like to extend our gratitude to all the staff at Hamilton General Hospital and Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital for their attentiveness and loving care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Gordon's name to Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital or a Charity of Your Choice.
