Graeme SCOTT Obituary
December 9, 1963 – October 28, 2023 Graeme died suddenly, tragically, and much too young last October. He is survived by his four children, Danielle and Rebecca (and their mother, Denise Smith), and Mitchell and Stanley (and their mother, Carlis Ladero); as well as his three grandsons, Roman, Orion and Rhodes; and his three sisters, Dawn, Sharon Jo and Jill. Graeme was predeceased by his mother, Vilma McCallum of Gaspe, Quebec; and his father, Fenton Scott of Fredericton, New Brunswick. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. Graeme grew up in Don Mills, Ontario. He had a lot of friends and was an avid skier and a voracious reader from an early age. He loved music. After Vilma started working when he was teenage, he began reading cookbooks cover to cover and became an accomplished cook. Not surprisingly, given the time he spent with him in the bush as a boy, Graeme followed his father's example and became a geologist. After getting his Batchelor of Science in Geology from Western University, he worked all over Canada before continuing his practice in South and Central America. After his father's health declined, he returned to Don Mills, where Fenton and Graeme worked together on many projects, including a substantial iron ore discovery in Labrador. Graeme was an accomplished geologist and an intuitive prospector who loved his work. After Fenton died in 2012, Graeme devoted much time and attention to his mother's needs. Graeme was a very funny man with great magnetism; he lived life large, and he is terribly missed. There will be a celebration of his life at the family home in Gaspe at the end of August 2024.
