Grahame WOODS Obituary
GRAHAME WOODS January 31, 1934 - November 25, 2022 Grahame Woods, aged 88, of Cobourg, Ontario, passed away on November 25, 2022, with his beloved wife, Glorya, at his bedside. Grahame will be deeply missed by Glorya; his children, Jayne and Guy; his grandchildren, Andrew and Matthew (late); Katie, Jessica and Cameron; and his niece and nephew, Helena and Matthew. Born and raised in England, Grahame grew up in turbulent times. His formative years were spent during World War Two with his mother, Marjorie; father, Bert; and his older siblings, Hugh and Shirley. The war was not easy on Grahame - he was too young to fully understand why the city he lived in was being bombed by airplanes or why anybody would want to drop poisonous gas on him and his family. When the war ended and Grahame came of age he married his first wife, Judy Davies, and they soon made the decision to follow his sister and brother-in-law, and leave England for Canada in the early 1950s. This was a pivotal moment in his life. Canada presented Grahame with a multitude of opportunities he never would have had if he had remained in England. After Grahame's first marriage ended, he married Glorya Lyndon and they built a lovely life together. Grahame had an extraordinary career as an award-winning cinematographer (he travelled the world extensively filming for the CBC) and screenwriter (Glory Enough For All) at the CBC; he was also an accomplished novelist (Bloody Harvest); playwright; farmer (yes, farmer, Gloria and Grahame owned and operated a beautiful farm in eastern Ontario); mental health counsellor; local newspaper columnist; and fundraiser for a multitude of causes close to his heart. Grahame lived a very full - and at times, extremely dramatic life; he was a romantic; a Renaissance man; a proud Canadian. He loved his wife, Glorya, profoundly. He was a good person and he will be missed.
