YOUNG, Gwen S.

Passed away peacefully at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital on Monday afternoon, April 1, 2013, four days after her 92nd birthday. Cherished and devoted wife of the late Rev. George H. Young. She will be missed by her daughters, Janet (Ken) Fleet of Kilworth, Ont. and Mary (John) Smibert of London, Ont. Loving grandmother of Andrew (Elsa Rose), Kimberly (Kaitlyn), Rebecca (Brian), Emily and Ian and great grandmother of Orla, Greta, Alexander and Sophie. Gwen was active in the life of Paterson Memorial Presbyterian Church, as a member of Greta Adams, WMS, CGIT, Couples Club and Senior Choir from 1955 until moving to London in 2000. A 1944 graduate of Victoria College, University of Toronto, Gwen was also a member of the University Women's Club, investment group, and book club and also served on the Board of Directors of the Sarnia Public Library and the YMCA. A memorial service will be held at Paterson Memorial Presbyterian Church on Thursday, April 11th at 11:30 a.m. with visitation 1 hour prior to the service.
