I was a patient of Dr. Steauss for 43 years until his Retirement.I met Hans when I was in the Army being deployed to Egypt on a UN mission in 1979.Hans was a Major in the Reserve Airforce and he performed my physical a heart defect was found ,I had a surgical repair and within 3 months was back in the field again where I served 6 more years.In 1997 Hans was by my side when He diagnosed me with an Aortic Aneurysm again Emergency Surgery and I made the yearly visit to his Credit Valley office.He made me laugh and that smile of his. He will always be in my thoughts RIP Sir.

I just learnt the passing of Dr Strauss. He was my doctor for the over 33 years before I moved from the area.
He was a very caring doctor. We had interesting chats and laughs.

Dr. Strauss was one of the kindest, most caring persons that I have met along life´s journey and I am ever so grateful to have been in his care.

I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Strauss in my first Cardiac Cath Lab job many years ago, and he was also integral for me in acquiring the next one. He was always such a joy to work with and we bonded over our common German heritage. Dr. Strauss will always be in my hear and memory as a fantastic colleague and friend.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Dr. Strauss passing away .I first met Dr Strauss at CVH for a stress test . He was gentle kind man. He immediately got be in touch with his office and took great care you me . I remember after performing my angiogram., he stood beside my bed and said " My darling patient , you will have to have a open heart surgery and this will give you another 20-30 years of life "
I´ve been his patient since 2009.

Dr. Strauss was my cardiologist since 1994 and I was saddened to learn this week about his death on my appointment at CVH Medicine Clinic. He was very professional and likeable. We shared a common interest in aviation.

The most wonderful and kind man and colleague. Worked together for many years at Credit Valley Hospital in Heart Function Clinic.
He was always so engaging and empathetic to his patients and he always remembered there medical history just by saying the patients name..brilliant. We shared the same love of the Muskoka's where we both owned a cottage. He will be missed. My condolences to his wife and family.

So sorry to hear that Dr. Strauss has passed away. My husband Thomas was a patient of Dr. Strauss for many years. I remember sitting in his office and when my husband would start joking with him it was such a wonderful uplifting time when he would start coming back with a joke as well. We always left his office feeling much better after seeing him. He was truly not only an amazing Cardiologist but a beautiful human being. Rest In Peace Dr. Strauss. You will be missed by many. I have to share my experiences with one of the best doctors I knew.
Dr Strauss was my dad and father in law and my heart doctor.
I was fortunate to have such a caring smart brilliant doctors to care for me and my family.

My relationship with Hans began in 1985 when I had the misfortune (or good fortune) of having a heart attack. I say good because it launched a friendship that traversed a period of over 35 years. It went way beyond a Doctor Patient relationship. I always looked forward to our yearly follow-up appointments. He had a deep love of family and an insatiable appetite for humor. My wife and I had looked forward to one day breaking bread with he and Jacquie.

I had the good fortune to work with Dr. Strauss in the cardiology department at CVH. He was quick witted and enjoyed sharing stories of his family and his travels. I so appreciated his willingness to share his knowledge and he was always available to consult on our cardiac rehab patients. He will be missed. He was an excellent cardiologist, extremely knowledgeable and well-read but probably, more importantly, a genuine personable clinician who cared deeply for his patients. He will be missed.

So sorry to hear about Hans. I came to work as a nurse on 3B ( or 3 bug as he would say!) in 1989. He had so much respect from us nurses. He loved a good joke and we loved reading his consult notes!( there was always a funny comment) He was a kind and clever gentleman and his patients loved him. My heartfelt condolences to his family.

I am so very sorry to hear of Dr. Strauss´ passing. As an R.N. I worked with him at CVH in the ICU in the 1980´s and he was always so very kind and compassionate to both his patients as well as staff members. I have not seen him for decades, but a nurse never forgets a doctor who was such a pleasure to work with and for. I learned so very much from Dr. Strauss and I feel blessed to have known him.
