August 11, 1934 – January 3, 2025 Harold Douglas "Doug" Lee passed away on January 3, 2025, peacefully at home, with family by his side. An actuary and lifelong resident of Toronto, Ontario, Doug was born on August 11, 1934. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Olivia (nee Lemmon); and his four children, Gordon (Jill), Stephen (Sandra), Andrea (Patrick) and Jennifer (Jared). After graduating in Math and Physics from the University of Toronto in 1955, he met and married Olivia Lemmon in 1960, and together they raised their family. Doug dedicated his life to his successful career and his loved ones. He thrived in his profession as a consulting actuary and ultimately became manager of the Toronto office of Towers Perrin, where his integrity and professionalism earned him great respect. He took immense pride in his family and together they enjoyed many summers cottaging on Paudash Lake. Memories were also built during family trips across Canada, skiing, and countless family dinners to celebrate holidays and birthdays. He and Olivia also enjoyed extensive global travelling in his retirement. As a grandfather, he took great joy in the lives of his eleven grandchildren: Jeffrey, Amanda, Cameron, Connor, Jason, Kayley, Aiden, Gaelyn, Zachary, Alicia and Travis. Doug was known for his quick wit, intelligence and generosity, characteristics that endeared him to many. Beyond his career and family life, he contributed to the community through his involvement with Moorelands Camp, Yonge Street Mission and St. John's York Mills Church. He was a dedicated supporter of the Salvation Army and CanSave. He is remembered with great love as a devoted husband, father and grandfather, guiding and supporting his children and grandchildren throughout their lives. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. A funeral will be held at St. John's York Mills (19 Don Ridge Drive) to honour his memory on January 8, 2025, at 11 a.m. Livestreaming will be available at
www.kanejerrettnorthyork.ca. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Doug's memory to the Salvation Army.
